The extra game proved to be a confidence booster for the Algoma Wolves soccer team as they opened WIAA Tournament play with a dominating 6-0 win over New Holstein Tuesday afternoon.
The Wolves were the only local team to play an opening-round game, with all others getting a bye into Thursday's semifinals.
On Thursday, the Wolves will face a tall task when they face top-seeded St. Mary Catholic in Fox Crossing.
