With an exception for Luxemburg-Casco, Thursday marked the end of the road for most of the area's volleyball teams in the WIAA Tournament.

The Gibraltar Vikings volleyball could not get their vengeance for losing earlier this season to their Packerland rival, getting swept out of the WIAA Tournament Thursday by NEW Lutheran 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-23).

The Algoma Wolves volleyball season ended on Thursday night, getting swept by their hosts in Cedar Grove-Belgium 3-0 (19-25, 12-25, 24-26).

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers volleyball team's run in the WIAA Tournament stopped on Thursday at the hands of a tough Fox Valley Lutheran squad 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-15).

The Luxemburg-Casco volleyball will have the opportunity to avenge an earlier season loss to Fox Valley Lutheran after sweeping Winneconne in their semifinal on Thursday 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-12). The Spartans will head to Appleton to face Fox Valley Lutheran for the regional championship at 7 p.m. 

The third set win proved elusive for the Sevastopol volleyball team as they were eliminated by the Hilbert Wolves 3-2 (22-25, 14-25, 25-14, 25-8, 11-15).
