With the majority of the area's fall sports teams out of their respective WIAA Tournaments, the focus for some of the athletes is being turned to the upcoming winter season.

November 6th marks the first-day girls' basketball teams can return to work along with the state's hockey and gymnastics teams. On November 13th, wrestling, boys' basketball, and boys' swimming can begin their practices.

Currently, Southern Door football, Kewaunee football, Luxemburg-Casco football, Sturgeon Bay soccer, Door County United swimming, and the area's four state cross country qualifiers are the only ones still alive in their respective WIAA State Series events.
