For the second time in a week, Green Bay Phoenix basketball fans almost saw one of their teams lose to a lower-division opponent.
This time, it was the Phoenix women who had to rally twice to defeat Division 2 opponent Northern Michigan 63-56. The Wildcats held a five-point lead early in the first quarter and even took a slim one-point lead in the fourth quarter, only to see the Phoenix respond with runs of their own. A 10-0 rally in the fourth quarter cemented the Phoenix's perfect 2-0 exhibition record for 2023 as they prepare for their first regular season game on Monday at Northern Iowa.
