The Green Bay Phoenix started strong and ended stronger in their 88-62 win over Illinois State on Saturday.

The Phoenix outscored the Redbirds 19-9 in the first quarter and 24-8 in the fourth quarter to send the Kress Center crowd home happy. They also shot over 50 percent from the field and over 40 percent from behind the arc. The bench also did their part for the Phoenix, outscoring the Redbirds 40-11 in that department.

Callie Genke led the Phoenix with a career-high 26 points and six rebounds in the matinee. Cassie Schiltz added 15 points and five rebounds, while Jasmine Kondrakiewicz registered 10 points and five rebounds in the victory.

The  Phoenix will play  again on November 16th at Creighton.
