The basketball hardwoods began the 2023-24 campaign in Door and Kewaunee counties Tuesday night.  The local girls’ teams were in action playing non-conference games.

In Algoma, the Wolves fell to the Bonduel Bears 45-22 as they could not overcome a 30-16 halftime deficit.

The Sevastopol Pioneers started their season with a convincing 64-14 win over the Suring Eagles at home.

The Kewaunee Storm opened with a victory at Wrightstown, defeating the Tigers 51-40. 

Sturgeon Bay will open their season on Thursday, and Gibraltar will play on Friday.
