Lev Katzin scored twice including the tally that put the game away as the Green Bay Gamblers won the first of three straight against the Madison Capitols 5-3.
After giving up the game's first goal, the Gamblers scored twice on tallies by Libor Nemec and Julian Lutz to make it 2-1 after one period of play. The two teams would trade goals the rest of the way with Katzin matching a Capitols goal in the second period to keep it a one-goal game before Michael DeAngelo and Katzin delivered the knockout blows in the third period.
Goaltender Adam Gajan stopped 39 of 42 shots in the Gamblers victory.
The two teams face off again Saturday night in Green Bay at 6:05 p.m.
