Sitte leads Vikings past Rebels in OT

Braden Sitte scored seven points in overtime to help the Gibraltar boys' basketball team get their first victory of the season on Saturday, beating Wabeno-Laona 56-44.

 

The two teams took turns outscoring each other 25-17 in the half with the Vikings having to hold on to force overtime. The Vikings would not be denied the win, outscoring the Rebels 14-2 in the extra period.

 

Sitte scored a game-high 26 points thanks to those extra seven points in overtime. Kayin Jackson and Marshall Maltby each scored nine points and Jeffrey Mize chipped in seven points in the win. The Rebels were led by Walker Wankleman and Preston Vanzile with 13 points.
