Gamblers face Fighting Saints ahead of holiday break

The Green Bay Gamblers look to take care of business before Christmas on Saturday night when they face the Dubuque Fighting Saints at the Resch Center.

The Gamblers are 3-1 in December, including last weekend's split against Chicago last weekend. In Friday's 6-5 loss to the Steel in front of 3,500 fans at the Resch Center, the Gamblers clawed their way back from a 4-1 deficit to force a shoot-out. Four players had multi-point games for the Gamblers, including two goals from Libor Nemec and Blake Bechen. In Saturday's 6-2 win, the Gamblers scored three goals in the final period to put the game out of reach. Michael DeAngelo had a hat trick, and Ben Poitras had three points of his own (1 G, 2 A) to lead the Gamblers to the victory.

The Fighting Saints are 2-3 on the month, needing a Nick Romeo overtime goal to give them the win in their last matchup against Sioux City.

The first of three games at the Resch Center to end December will start with the drop of the puck on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The Gamblers will not play again until they play a pair on December 29th and 30th against Team USA.
