Bucs pass by Packers

The first-ever perfect pass rating for an opposing quarterback at Lambeau Field led to the Green Bay Packers dropping their second consecutive game, a 34-20 decision to the Tampa Bay Buccanneers.

Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield rarely had to make tough throws, just the correct ones, as he drove the offense down the field repeatedly. The Packers took an early lead after their first drive stalled out inside the 10-yard line, but they quickly recovered a fumble to put them back in business. A few plays later, Tucker Kraft would find the endzone on a pass from Jordan Love. The first of Baker Mayfield's four touchdown passes would give the Bucs the lead back before the two teams traded field goals to end the half at 13-10.

The lack of adjustments by Joe Barry's defense turned a competitive game into a laugher as the Buccanneers would score touchdowns on its three second-half drives. The Packers could only muster a field goal and a touchdown between two other fruitless drives after the break.

The Packers' streak of giving up over 100 yards rushing ended, but they allowed Mayfield to throw for 381 yards on 22 for 28 passing to earn the perfect 158.3 passer rating. Love did not play much worse, going 29-39 for 284 yards and two touchdowns. His lone turnover came on the Packers' final play of the game when he fumbled the ball trying to get rid of the ball on fourth down.

The Packers hope a trip to Carolina on December 24th will be the Christmas gift they need to get back into the playoff picture.
