Two boys' basketball teams from the area can add to their trophy case before the New Year.

The Algoma Wolves are one win away from winning the Elkhart Lake Holiday Tournament after topping Cambria-Friesland 52-33 on Thursday afternoon. The Wolves will now face Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah for the tournament title at 2:30 p.m. after the hosts won their matchup against Black Hawk 67-39.

A 20-point lead heading into the second half all but guaranteed the Southern Door boys' basketball team's fate in the Preble Holiday Tournament, beating Milwaukee Washington 71-49. The Eagles will now play Mosinee in the championship game after they beat the host Green Bay Preble Hornets 84-63. The game tips off at 5 p.m.
