On Tuesday, the hardwoods were pretty quiet in the area for boys' basketball. Gibraltar fell to Two Rivers (see story above), and Luxemburg-Casco dropped a conference game at home.
The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans could not overcome a strong performance by Little Chute’s Grant Hermus, falling to the Mustangs 55-42 in NEC action Tuesday night in Luxemburg.
Hermus poured in 17 points, and Charlie VandenBurgt added ten more as the Mustangs pulled away in the second half to prevail after leading 26-21 at intermission.
Josh Parins led the Spartans in scoring with ten points, JD Glampe added eight points, and Lance Cherovsky had seven.
The Spartans (2-5, 2-7 overall) will have a week off before playing host to Waupaca next Tuesday.
