DCU brings home relays medals

The DCU boys' swim team brought home two medals on Saturday, January 6th, in the Sheboygan North Raider Relays Invitational.  The meet, made up of only relay events, included 11 events.  DCU participated in three of these relays and brought in 14 points overall.

The 200 Fly Relay (Logan Filar, George Atwell, Luke Filar, Jack Monfils) took second, placing behind first by only a second. There were several fantastic splits in the relay- Logan Filar had the fastest lead-off of any team, and Monfils had the third-fastest split
in the entire event. Every member swam under 30 seconds!

The turnaround into the 750 Crescendo Relay (Logan Filar, Monfils, Atwell, Luke Filar) was tough as the two heats were back to back, but the boys still managed to put up some great swims. Logan Filar had the second-fastest lead-off in the event, and Luke Filar was on track to swim a sub-six minute 500 with his 400 Free legs.

The boys wrapped up their events positively, taking third in the four by 100 IM Relay (Logan Filar, Luke Filar, Atwell, Monfils). Monfils swam the second-fastest 100 IM of anyone in the event as one of only two swimmers to do a sub-minute 100.

The DCU boys have two upcoming meets this week: Thursday, January 11th at Two Rivers versus Two Rivers and Plymouth at 6:00 pm and on Saturday, January 13th at Sheboygan South for the Sheboygan South Invite at 11:00 am.
