An 11-0 run late in the second half sent the biggest Resch Center crowd in four years into a frenzy as the Green Bay Phoenix beat the Oakland Golden Grizzlies 69-59.
Until that run, the two teams traded blows like a pair of heavyweight fighters, with neither having a lead larger than four points in the first half. The Golden Grizzlies entered the half with a 28-27 lead and had it tied at 50 with just over six minutes. That's when the Phoenix stepped up the defensive pressure while knocking down shots to outscore their visitors 19-9 down the stretch.
Foster Wonders scored a career-high 19 points from behind the arc and Will Eames notched his own career-high with 14 points. Teammate Rich Bhyre matched him with 14 points. Blake Lampman scored 15 points, and Chris Conway added 14 points in the loss for the Golden Grizzlies.
