Three local teams will be featured on the NEW Radio Sports Network Friday night after a calm Thursday in boys' basketball action.
The Sevastopol Pioneers could not dig out a 24-point first-half hole as they lost to NEW Lutheran 68-45 at home Thursday. The Pioneers will now head to Sturgeon Bay for a Friday night showdown against the Clippers, which are trying to extend their Packerland Conference winning streak to three games. Jacob Nate and Reece Robillard will have the call on U-102.1 beginning at 7:15 p.m. followed by the tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
The Gibraltar Vikings boys' basketball team looks to snap a seven-game losing streak Friday night when they face Oconto for the second time this season. Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the tip-off at 7:30 p.m. It will be the same story on Monday when the Vikings head around the bay to face Peshtigo.
Other Thursday action saw Luxemburg-Casco falling to Denmark 62-53. Friday night's slate also includes Kewaunee traveling to NEW Lutheran (7:30 p.m.) and Algoma hosting Peshtigo (7:30 p.m.)
