Two local players hit major milestones as a part of an eventful night in boys' basketball on Thursday night.
As heard on U-102.1, tt may have been an Algoma home game, but the Southern Door fan base traveled well to support Junior Drew Daoust and his quest for 2000 points. Fans were treated to that 2000-point milestone and a 66-45 Southern Door victory.
Down the road, Kewaunee's Thomas Stangel joined the parade of Packerland Conference players reaching scoring milestones over the past week in the Storm's 68-55 win over Peshtigo Thursday night. The Storm are back in action on Friday night when they travel to Wrightstown for a 7 p.m. tip.
On 105.1 the GOAT, the Gibraltar Vikings very nearly matched their scoring average in the first half as they broke a nine-game losing streak on Thursday night, beating Sevastopol 66-30.
