L-C wrestling wins regionals as many more qualify for sectionals

Luxemburg-Casco continued their string of success at the WIAA Regional Wrestling Tournament, but wrestlers from the area's other three teams will also be sending competitors to next week's sectional meets.

The Spartans won the Two Rivers regional with 298 points, more than 130 points more than second place Winneconne. Twelve of its 14 wrestlers will move onto next week's sectional meet, including regional champions Carson Neubert (120), Caleb Delebreau (138), and Max Ronsman (150). The top four in each weight class move on to next week's sectional meet. As a result of their regional title, Luxemburg-Casco will wrestle in the team sectional on Tuesday in front of their home crowd. Wrestling begins that night at 6 p.m.

The Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol wrestling team will send four wrestlers to next week's sectional meet after a successful day at the Two Rivers Regional on Saturday. Spencer Madsen took home the top prize at 144 pounds, accumulating two decisions and a major along the way. Alex Andreae, Zak Wrobel, and Seth Laughlin also clinch sectional berths.

Three Southern Door wrestlers extended their season at least one more week after successful afternoons at the Cedar Grove-Belgium Regional. Mason Motquin (132) and Trevor Englebert (144) both took second place while Lance Veeser (150) secured his spot with a third-place finish.

Three Kewaunee Storm wrestlers found the top of the podium at the Cedar Grove-Belgium Regional on Saturday. Aiden Ducat (113), Kemper Robinson (190), and Mitchell Boeder (285) won their respective brackets while two others found their way into the consolation rounds. The Storm finished in fourth place with 150 points, just over 90 points behind first-place Random Lake.
