Phoenix women finish off Penguins

The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team will enter its final homestand of the season on a happy note after beating Youngstown State on the road 71-59.

It was a game of runs early on as the Phoenix had an 8-1 run answered by a 7-0 run by the Penguins. The Phoenix would stretch the lead out in the second quarter as they outscored the Penguins 16-9 in the frame. A 12-0 run by the Penguins brought the game to within one before the Phoenix answered with a stretch of their own that put the game out of reach.

Four Phoenix players reached double figures led by Maddy Schreiber and Natalie McNeal scoring 18 points apiece.

The Phoenix remains tied with Cleveland State for first place in the Horizon League ahead of visits from Oakland and Detroit Mercy over the next seven days.
