Kewaunee, Sevastopol go for regional titles on NRSN

Five local teams entered, but only two will enter Saturday with a chance to win a regional title on Saturday after a busy Friday of WIAA Girls' Basketball Tournament action.

 

The Sevastopol Pioneers will have a rematch of last year's sectional semi-final in the regional final on Saturday after knocking out their county rival Gibraltar 42-23 Friday night. Bryan Mazur and Tim Kowols will have the call from Institute Saturday night when the Pioneers play Wabeno-Laona on 96.7 WBDK and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7 p.m.

 

The Kewaunee Storm girls defeated the Howards Grove Tigers 51-32 in a Division 4 regional semi-final on Friday night. Kewaunee (23-2) will now host #4 Valders Saturday night for the regional championship.  The game will be broadcast on 104.1 WRLU and streamed on New Radio Sports Network starting at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame and tipoff at 7:00 p.m.   Paul Schmitt and Henry Annen will have the call from Kewaunee High School.

 

Algoma fell to Manitowoc Lutheran 52-28,

 

Luxemburg-Casco was doubled up by Watertown 58-27.

 

Southern Door lost to Sheboygan Lutheran 73-29.
