Local teams hit the diamond on Saturday

Local teams will play baseball and softball for the second day in a row on Saturday after Tuesday's storm put a continuation of the season in doubt for a few days.

BASEBALL

There were no results shared from Kewaunee's action against Cumberland on Friday. The Storm will face Viroqua and Spooner on Saturday at the Woodside Sports Complex in Mauston.

No results were shared from their first game against Adams-Friendship, but Gibraltar/Washington Island was able to come back and get a victory against St. Mary's Springs 11-8. The Vikings were down 5-2, but one big inning later was all they needed to secure the victory, even with the Zephyrs staging a comeback with a three-run inning of their own. The Vikings wrap up their trip on Saturday with a game against Lakeside Lutheran.

Luxemburg-Casco drew the early game during a day full of NEC action at Capital Credit Union Park in Ashwaubenon. They play Oconto Falls at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

SOFTBALL

No results were shared but Gibraltar played Colfax in Mauston Friday afternoon. They are slated to play Boyceville on Saturday.

Kewaunee also did not share results from their games on Friday. They will play Medford and Spooner in Mauston on Saturday.
