Brewers edged by Pirates again

The Milwaukee Brewers dropped their second game in-a-row to the Pittsburg Pirates 2-1 on Tuesday.

Pittsburg started the scoring on a lead-off home run in the first inning by Andrew McCutchen off Brewer starter Tobias Myers, who made his major league debut.

Myers (0-1) took the loss but settled down and went five innings giving up only four hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

The Pirates added a run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Connor Joe off Brewer reliever Jared Koenig.

Brewer catcher Gary Sanchez cut the lead to 2-1 on a lead-off home run in the seventh inning, but that was all the Milwaukee offense muster in the game.

Pirate starter Bailey Falter (2-1) went seven strong innings giving up only Sanchez's homer and two other hits while striking out eight and allowing one walk in picking up the win.  David Bedner picked up his fourth save of the year to close out the ninth for the Pirates (13-11).

The Brewers (14-8) and Pittsburg will play the third game of the four-game series on Wednesday starting at 5:40 p.m.   Bryse Wilson (2-0) will get the start for the Brewers.
