Two area teams kept their hopes of a state baseball tournament appearance alive on Thursday with wins in their respective regional title games.

As heard on 105.1 The GOAT, the Gibraltar/Washington Island Vikings will get a chance to avenge their 2023 regional final loss to Pacelli and their sectional semi-final loss in Rosholt in one swoop next week after holding on to beat Reedsville 4-2 in the regional final on Thursday. They will face Pacelli in their 1 p.m. sectional semi-final in Rosholt on Tuesday, a game that will air on 105.1 The GOAT.

The Algoma Wolves registered an upset of top-seeded Mishicot on Thursday with a 2-0 win. They will play St. Mary Catholic on Tuesday in Gillett at 1 p.m.
