A former Algoma basketball star will be immortalized alongside her teammates at the Green Bay Athletics Department Hall of Fame ceremony later this month.
Sam Zastrow was part of the 2010-2011 Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team that clinched the first Sweet 16 appearance in program history under head coach Matt Bollant. She scored her first points as a Phoenix that season in a 60-40 win against Utah and a season-high five points against Valparaiso. Her Phoenix career ended a few years later. She appeared in 26 games with one start, averaging 2.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.
As a member of the Wolves, Zastrow was a Three-time Packerland Conference Player of the Year and a First-team Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 3 All-State pick as a junior and senior.
