Shoreland League: 'Guins fall to Bandits

The Algoma Penguins allowed nearly 30 baserunners in its 17-7 loss (seven innings) to Manitowoc on Wednesday night.

It was 6-0 before the Penguins could get on the scoreboard thanks to an Austen Dart RBI groundout and a Tyler Neinas run-scoring single to make it 6-2. The Bandits kept piling on runs, with another tally in the bottom of the fourth and four more in the fifth inning. The Penguins would chip away at the advantage in the seventh inning with five runs. Down 11-2, Jack Peterson drove in two runs with a double and Brayden Skenandor cleared the bases with a three-run home run later in the inning. The Bandits ensured there would be no comeback as they plated six runs in their half of the inning to end the game early.

Three Penguins players had at least two hits in the loss.
