The Milwaukee Brewers let numerous opportunities slip past them Tuesday evening as they fell to the Toronto Blue Jays 3-0 at American Family Field.
Rookie pitcher Carlos Rodriguez (0-1) made his Major League debut for the Brewers and went 3 2/3 innings giving up two runs on seven hits.
The Brewers squandered early chances, leaving seven men on base in the first three innings and went 0-12 with runners in scoring position for the game. Toronto on the other hand were five for 12 with RISP.
Blake Perkins had two hits for Milwaukee as Toronto starter Yusei Kikuchi (4-5) got the win throwing five scoreless innings allowing three hits and four walks while striking out five.
Milwaukee (39-28) and Toronto (33-34) will wrap up the three game series this afternoon with a 1:10 p.m. start. Tobias Myers (2-2) will get the start for the Brewers while Chris Bassitt (6-6) will be on the mound for the Blue Jays.
