The Green Bay Packers hope the adage of "If You Build It, They Will Come" proves true after they received funding for a third locker room.
According to Green Bay media outlets, the Stadium District Board announced it will support the Packers' request to build a third locker room with $3 million. The Packers will contribute more than $2 million for the project. The money comes from user fees embedded in the cost of tickets.
Packers spokesperson Aaron Popkey says the third locker room will allow the team to host more events, such as college football games and international soccer friendlies. The home locker room is not available for other teams to use, and an auxiliary gym on the stadium's campus is no longer an option. It is suggested that the locker room will be open in time for the Packers to host a college football game between Wisconsin and Notre Dame in 2026.
