Behind a strong pitching performance by Bryce Wilson, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Texas Rangers 3-1 at American Family Field on Tuesday night.
Wilson pitched six shutout innings after entering the game in the third inning for opener Hoby Miller and struck out four while allowing only three hits. Elvis Peguero picked up his second save of the season, pitching a scoreless ninth inning.
Texas scored in the first inning off Milner on an RBI single by Josh Smith, but that was all the Rangers could offensively muster against the Brewers.
Milwaukee tied the score in the third on an RBI single by Jackson Chourio and took the lead for good on a solo homer by Joey Ortiz in the fifth. Rhys Hoskins added an insurance run with an RBI single in the seventh inning.
The Brewers (47-33) will look to take the series this afternoon with first pitch set for 1:10 p.m.
