Door County Pickleball Club Gears Up for a record setting 2024 Outdoor Season

The 2024 outdoor Pickleball season for the Door County Pickleball Club is gearing up for another record-breaking season. To start the 2024 outdoor season, the Door County Pickleball Club held its back-to-summer gathering at Sunset Park in Sturgeon Bay on Sunday, June 9th, and over 100 players (see attached picture) joined the fun. Jay Renstrom, President of the Door County Pickleball Club, states, “If this event is any indication of what’s to come, the county will need more Pickleball Courts.”

Renstrom mentioned that the Door County Pickleball Club ended the year with just over 400 paid members last year. He states, ‘This year we hope to significantly surpass last year as we already have nearly 400 members and it’s only June 10th.  Our Facebook page is continually increasing, with nearly 1,400 members. Renstrom mentioned that a great indication of how membership is performing is to keep track of the percentage of new members. The Door County Pickleball Club has consistently surpassed a new member rate of 20% annually; this year, we are near 30%. The members and the hard work of the Executive Committee of the Door County Pickleball Club are responsible for the tremendous growth we consistently see here in Door County regarding Pickleball. Every penny received through dues and donations returns to supporting and growing Pickleball here in Door County. We support all Pickleball locations from Washington Island to Sturgeon Bay.

The Door County Pickleball Club has many great events planned for the upcoming outdoor season. They will hold a doubles tournament next weekend and a singles tournament in early July at Sunset Park. LevelUP Pickleball Camp, the nation’s leading Pickleball camp, will come to Door County on June 29th and June 30th to provide world-class instruction. The Annual Summer Social Event will take place in August. In late August, pro-Pickleball players Susannah Barr and Dominic Catalano will be coming to Door County on August 23rd and 24th to hold clinics and play with the pro sessions at the town of Sevastopol Courts.
