This past Saturday, the Door County Pickleball Club hosted its first full-court Singles Pickleball tournament in Sturgeon Bay at Sunset Park.
Pickleball players from all over the state and Minnesota competed for cash prizes for the top three places. Noah Hlavac from Stevens Point took first place with 109 points overall and received $100. Colin Chapman from Eau Claire took second place with 104 points and received $50. Nathan Gurgel from Manitowoc took third place with 103 points and received $30, and Erik Ost from Sturgeon Bay took fourth place with 83 points.
Jay Renstrom, President of the Door County Pickleball Club, mentioned, " This is the first time the Door County Pickleball Club hosted a full-court singles tournament with cash prizes. It was great to see the high-quality play and athleticism of all the participants battle it out for over three hours." The tournament brought in players from Minneapolis, Appleton, Menasha, Berlin, Neosho, Eau Claire, Stevens Point, Madison, and Sturgeon Bay to compete.
