Algoma Penguins fell to Kewaunee 5-1 on Friday at Kewaunee.
A wild pitch put Kewaunee on the board in the bottom of the first.
Kewaunee added one run in the third. Joe Anderson hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 3-0.
Bryce Henninger earned the win for Kewaunee. They surrendered five hits and one run over nine innings, striking out eight and walking one. Carson Leist took the loss for Algoma Penguins. The righty went six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out six and walking three.
Evan Monfre led Algoma Penguins with one run batted in. Will Jandrin led Algoma Penguins with two hits in four at bats.
Anderson went 2-for-3 at the plate as the left-handed hitter led the team with one run batted in. Nathan Halvitz stole two bases. Kewaunee stole five bases in the game.
