The Green Bay Rockers could not overcome an early 3-0 deficit in the first inning, falling to the Wausau Woodchucks 8-1 at Capital Credit Union Park Tuesday.
Rockers starter Henry Chabot (1-6) took the loss, allowing four runs on four hits in three innings, although he recorded six strikeouts and only one walk.
Kelly Cooper had the Rockers’ only RBI on a single in the second inning, scoring Sam Miller.
The Woodchucks outhit the Rockers 10 to 7, with Max Galvin and Bryce Hubbard going deep for Wausau. Hubbard ended up with a game-high three RBIs, and starting pitcher Grant Siegel (2-1) picked up the win, going seven innings and allowing only one run on five hits.
The Rockers now play the Lakeshore Chinooks in Mequon at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday.
