The Milwaukee Brewers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back in a 10-0 shutout against the Atlanta Braves on the road Tuesday.
Willie Adames hit two three-run home runs and William Contrares had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Brewer offense.
Collin Rhea (10-3) pitched seven scoreless innings allowing just five hits with nine strikeouts to pick up the win for the Brewers. Joe Ross tossed the final two innings to finish off the shutout.
The Brewers and Braves will play game two in the series Wednesday night at 6:20 p.m. with Freddy Peralta (6-6) taking the mound for Milwaukee and Chris Sale (13-3) for Atlanta.
