Cross country round-up: Luxemburg-Casco boys win small school meet

The area's cross country teams found themselves throughout northeast Wisconsin on Thursday for meets in their second week of competition.

At UW-Green Bay's on-campus cross country course, Luxemburg-Casco's boys team found themselves at the top of the podium of the De Pere Invitational after winning last week's Chief Kahquados Invitational in Fish Creek. They finished eighth overall but first among small schools. Southern Door's Ben Grota was the top local finisher for the boys, covering the 5K course in 17:49. For the girls, Luxemburg-Casco also was the top local team with a third place finish in the small school division. Kewaunee's Hannah Miller won the race overall, finishing in 20:00.
