Behind a stellar pitching, the Milwaukee Brewers managed to hang on and beat the San Francisco Giants 3-2 on Tuesday night on the West Coast. Aaron Civale went 5.1 innings and allowed just three hits and two runs to pick up his sixth win. DL Hall, Trevor Megill and Devin Williams allowed just one hit over the last 3.2 innings to preserve the win. Williams picked up his tenth save of the season.
William Contreras went three-for-four, and Garrett Mitchell hit a solo homer to give the Brewers a 3-1 lead for good in the sixth inning.
The Brewers and Giants will play game two of the series Wednesday night at 8:45 p.m. with Colin Rea (12-4) facing Blake Snell (2-3) for San Francisco.
