With the loss of Jocko Rader in 2019, the pandemic in 2020, and various other hinderances, the DCB-HOF sat on the back burner for a long time. But, with the dedication of a few individuals with extensive history with Door County Baseball, the next class of Inductees has been chosen and will be honored on May 3, 2025. One of the first goals of the committee was for the baseball community to understand that this is a Door County Baseball Hall of Fame that includes High School, Legion, and Door County League participants. They are not just Door County League Baseball players. They include individuals with a strong history with baseball in Door County, such as coaches, umpires, and others.
The Door County Baseball Hall of Fame committee have selected Bill Becker, Chris Colombo, David Jilot, Travis Leroy, Jesse Miller, Robbie Schartner, Willie Schartner, Jeff Sperber, Ryan Tanck and Jody Viste. The banquet at the Mill Supper Club will provide highlights of each inductee’s service to and involvement in Door County Baseball.
The committee seeks to maintain the integrity of this honor by limiting inductees each round. Many qualified and deserving individuals were nominated. Those that were not chosen this round will be reconsidered for the 2027 Induction, at which time additional nominations will be sought.
The Door County Baseball Hall of Fame committee is seeking sponsors for the event and will be reaching out to interested businesses and organizations for support.
