The Door County United Girls Swim Team remains undefeated in conference swims with their win over Wittenberg-Birnamwood on October 10th.
The final score was 86-84. All points that were scored were extremely necessary for this win.
The A 200 yard medley relay consisting of Julia Michalski (SBHS), Caitlyn Hasenjager (SEV), Isabella Jimenez-Seyfer (SBHS), and Kailyn Neville (SDHS), began the night with a nail-biter race. They placed first, only 0.15s faster than Wittenberg’s A relay. Kailyn Neville (SDHS) was also among the top scorers of the evening for her events. Freshman Amelia Michalski (SBHS) and Megan Quaderer (SBHS) were also among some of the top scorers for the evening as well. The meet all came down to the 400-yard freestyle relay. DCU needed to place two relays in the top three finishes to win the meet. The A and B relay went to finish 2nd and 3rd, which gave us enough points to win the meet. The A relay team was Chloe Bissen (SBHS), Megan Quaderer (SBHS), Amelia Michalski (SBHS), and Julia Michalski (SBHS). The B relay team was Quinn Sperber (SDHS), Shaeffer Rass (SEV), Ophelia Linnan (SEV), and Isabella Jimenez-Seyfer (SBHS).
DCU will host New London High School on Tuesday, October 15th, at the Door County YMCA. Swimming starts at 6:00 p.m. and this is the last home meet of the regular season.
