Soccer Round-Up: Sturgeon Bay captures Packerland, travels to Seymour with The Pirate

Before the regular season concludes this week, local soccer teams had some business to take care of on Thursday.

Sturgeon Bay officially earned the Packerland Conference crown with a 5-1 win over Algoma Thursday afternoon. The Clippers will have one final tune-up ahead of the WIAA Tournament on Friday when they travel to Seymour to face the Thunder. Bryan Mazur and Peter Kerwin will have the call on The Pirate beginning at 6:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the first touch at 6:30 p.m. You can stream the game at Pirateradiosturgeonbay.com or tune your radios to 103.3 FM or 96.7 WBDK HD-2. The Wolves will hit the road as well as they travel to Luxemburg to face the Spartans.

The Gibraltar/Sevastopol United boys soccer regular season concluded on a high note on Thursday, October 17, with victories for both the JV and varsity squads at home versus Green Bay East. JV won their match 3-1, and varsity defeated the Red Devils 1-0.

Kewaunee was on the losing end of a season-long skid getting snapped at Green Bay West topped the Storm 6-0.

In other Friday action, Luxemburg-Casco visits Algoma at 4 p.m.
