DCU Swim wins Shawano Sprints All Conference meet

The Door County United Girls High School swim team remains on top of the Bay Conference with their win at the Shawano Sprints All Conference meet. The team collectively scored 378 points, the second place team Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School scored 316 points overall.  The team had at least one top five finish in each event for the evening. Freshman Quinn Sperber (SDHS) finished 3rd in the 25 yard freestyle and 5th in the 50 yard backstroke. Isabella Jimenez Seyfer (SBHS) finished 2nd in the 50 yard butterfly and 7th in the 100 yard freestyle. Ophelia Linnan (SEV) finished 9th in the 50 yard freestyle and 11th in the 50 yard backstroke. The biggest success of the evening was the 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the 200 yard medley relay. Second place consisted of Julia Michalski (SBHS), Caitlyn Hasenjager (SEV), Chloe Bissen (SBHS), and Kailyn Neville (SDHS). The third place relay team consisted of Quinn Sperber (SDHS), Amelia Michalski (SBHS), Megan Quaderer (SBHS), and Shaeffer Rass (SEV). The team will go into conference championships undefeated. The conference meet is Thursday October 31st at the Door County YMCA. Swimming starts at 5:00 p.m.
