Two local teams showed this year that they are just as good in the classroom as they are on the football field as Kewaunee and Sturgeon Bay were recognized with Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Team Academic All-State Awards.
Team Academic All-State Qualifications included an average cumulative GPA of all of its seniors of at least 3.33 or higher with a minimum of 5 seniors. The Storm had a GPA of 3.55 among its seven seniors and the Clippers boasted a 3.38 GPA among its 12 seniors.
In addition, several athletes earned individual Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Academic All-State Awards. Senior varsity letter winners had to have a GPA of at least 3.75 to qualify:
Kewaunee: Toby Kunkel, Justin Lischka, Dylan Peot, TylerVanGoethem
Southern Door: Braylon Berg, Mason Paye
Sturgeon Bay: Braden Evers, Jack Konop
