Soccer round-up: Sturgeon Bay, Gibraltar/Sevastopol advances

Two out of the three area soccer teams will play for a regional title after an eventful Thursday night in the semifinal round.

Sturgeon Bay cruised past New Holstein 9-0 in 60 minutes to earn a date with St. Mary Catholic at Clark Field. Bryan Mazur and Peter Kerwin will have the call on U-102.1 Saturday at TBD..

Sixth-seeded Gibraltar/Sevastopol United won their WIAA 2024 Boys Soccer Tournament Division 4 Regional match on Thursday, October 24, in Fish Creek, taking down the visiting #11 seed Algoma Wolves 4-1. Amherst wins 1-0. Saturday's kickoff time in Amherst is TBD.

A win against Algoma in the finale was not enough to spark the offense in Luxemburg-Casco's opener in the WIAA Soccer Tournament on Thursday, losing to Ripon 3-0 on the road.
