At least two cross country runners from Door and Kewaunee counties will be heading to Wisconsin Rapids next week for the WIAA State Cross Country Championships.
In Kiel, With a time of 16:24, Luxemburg-Casco's Kyan Lynts earned his spot in the state field with a fourth-place finish. His teammate Claire DuChateau did one better, taking third place in the girls' race with a time of 19:26 to make the state championships field next week. For Sturgeon Bay, Delaney Skiba paced the girls with a time of 22:39, finishing in the Top 40. Luke Selle paced the Clippers boys with a time of 21:18 to take 84th overall. Southern Door, Gibraltar, Sevastopol, Algoma, and Kewaunee will wait the extra day to compete in the regional meet hosted by Manitowoc Lutheran. Brillion, Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, Hilbert, Iola-Scandinavia, Lourdes Academy, Manawa, Mishicot, Omro, Oneida Nation, Providence Academy (Green Bay), Reedsville, Roncalli, Rosholt, Shiocton, St. Mary Catholic, Valders, Valley Christian, and Weyauwega Fremont will also compete in the meet that begins at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Meadow Links Golf Course.
