Luxemburg-Casco's Kyan Lynts and Claire DuChateau will have company from just down the road joining them at next week's state meet in Wisconsin Rapids.
The Kewaunee girls' cross country team earned their spot by taking second place in the Manitowoc Lutheran Sectional with 97 points, 42 points behind first-place Valders. The Storm do boast the sectional's individual champion with Hannah Miller winning the race with a time of 19:23. Southern Door's Emma Bousley (8th, 20:59.0), Sevastopol's Sienna Cain (39th, 23:17.2), Algoma's Sierra Slaby (26th, 22:21.9), and Gibraltar's Bridget Tepe (103rd, 27:55.5) led their respective teams.
On the boys' side, Southern Door's Ben Grota and Lucas Conard ran identical 17:21 5K times to come in 4th and 5th place overall to earn their spots in the state field. Gibraltar's Graham Devoe (81st, 21:19), Algoma's Alex Kirchman (28th, 18:46), Sevastopol's Jarius Dadam (32nd, 18:55), and Kewaunee's Robin Kunesh (58th, 20:13) paced their individual teams.
