Door County United hosts conference meet in Sturgeon Bay

The Door County United swim team welcomes its conference foes for a meet on Thursday at the Door County YMCA in Sturgeon Bay.

 

Last week, DCU remained on top of the Bay Conference with their win at the Shawano Sprints All-Conference meet. The team scored 378 points, and the second-place team, Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School, scored 316 points.  The team had at least one top-five finish in each event for the evening. Freshman Quinn Sperber (SDHS) finished 3rd in the 25-yard freestyle and 5th in the 50-yard backstroke. Isabella Jimenez Seyfer (SBHS) finished 2nd in the 50-yard butterfly and 7th in the 100-yard freestyle. Ophelia Linnan (SEV) finished 9th in the 50-yard freestyle and 11th in the 50-yard backstroke. The biggest success of the evening was the 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay. The second-place finishers were Julia Michalski (SBHS), Caitlyn Hasenjager (SEV), Chloe Bissen (SBHS), and Kailyn Neville (SDHS). The third-place relay team consisted of Quinn Sperber (SDHS), Amelia Michalski (SBHS), Megan Quaderer (SBHS), and Shaeffer Rass (SEV). The team enter the conference championships undefeated.

 

The first events begin at 5 p.m.
