Phoenix women pick up win over Blue Demons

The Green Bay Phoenix women used a 10-0 start to jump past the DePaul Blue Demons in a 70-57 win Thursday night.

The Blue Demons had their own run late in the frame and carried that momentum through the second quarter to only be down by four at the break. After the Blue Demons tied the game at 32, the Phoenix tallied 15 of the next 19 points to put the game out of reach for the remainder of the contest. Natalie McNeal led the Phoenix with 17 points, while Maddy Schreiber chipped in 14 points. Luxemburg-Casco alum Cassie Schiltz hit a milestone in the game, registering five rebounds to go along with her eight points to reach 500 boards for her career.

The Phoenix women will take the week off before they open the Discover Puerto Rico Tournament play against Virginia at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving. The weekend-long tournament will also feature games against Drake (10 a.m.) and Norfolk State (9 a.m.).
