The Green Bay Gamblers continue their Thanksgiving Eve tradition on Wednesday night when they face off against the Chicago Steel.
Last weekend, the Gamblers ended their long road trip on Saturday with a 6-3 win over Team USA to earn the series sweep. Each period saw the Gamblers score two goals and Team USA tally one. Will Zellers led the way with two goals in the first and third periods. Reece Cordray, Owen Buesgens, Lukas Peterson, and Nick Knutson also scored goals for the Gamblers in the win. Niles Benson, Anthony Cardilli, and Geno Carcone all posted multi-assist games. Gavin Moffatt earned the win in net, stopping 25 of 28 shots.
The Steel have lost seven straight game since they beat the Gamblers at the Resch Center on November 1st. That skid includes a loss to the Gamblers on their home ice plus sweeps at the hands of Youngstown, Lincoln, and a pair of Iowa teams.
The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The Gamblers will also host Tri-City for a pair of weekend games on Friday and Saturday. Before their Thanksgiving eve matchup against Lincoln, the Storm lost two of three against Fargo after sweeping Waterloo the previous weekend. The puck drops for those games at 7:05 p.m.
