The Green Bay Phoenix women feasted on 24 turnovers, including 14 steals, in its 64-59 win over Drake on Friday.
The two offenses struggled in the first half, but the Phoenix scraped together enough baskets to carry a 24-21 lead into the break. Both offenses broke out of their shells in the third quarter, more than matching their output up to that point in the third quarter alone. The Phoenix secured their final margin in the fourth quarter, putting the game away at the free-throw line.
Natalie McNeal led the Phoenix with 15 points, while Cassie Schiltz tallied a dozen points, and Callie Genke and Jenna Guyer each chipped in nine points in the victory.
The Phoenix end their Puerto Rican residency with a matchup against Norfolk State on Saturday at 9 a.m.
