Badgers struggle late, fall to Michigan

The Wisconsin Badgers let a second-half lead slip away and fell for the first time this season with a 67-64 loss to the Michigan Wolverines at home.

The Badgers jumped out to a 17-8 lead in the first half and took a six-point lead into halftime.

Both teams went back-and-forth most of the game, with Michigan going on a 6-0 run in the final two minutes to pull out the victory.

The Badgers had several chances at the end to tie the game in the final minute, but Max Klesmit missed two three-pointers, and a desperation half-court heave by John Tonje rimmed out to end the Badgers hopes.

Tonje led the Badgers with 18 points and Michigan's Vlad Goldin had game-high honors with 24 points.

Wisconsin (8-1, 0-1 BIG Ten) will now face in-state rival Marquette Saturday at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
