The traditional Friday-Saturday set is being thrown out this weekend as the Green Bay Gamblers face the Des Moines Buccaneers on Thursday and Friday to open the month.
The vibes of a four-game winning streak disappeared last weekend when the Gamblers were swept by the Tri-City Storm at the Resch Center. In the final game of the series, Andrew O'Sullivan tied the game up at 1-1 halfway through the first period, but it was 3-1 by the time Will Zellers put the puck in the net, only to have the Storm score two more times to end the game. Gavin Moffatt stopped 28 of the 32 shots he faced in the loss.
The Buccaneers find themselves in seventh place in the eight-team Western Conference, going 0-9-1-0 over their last 10 games.
