Girls basketball round-up: Southern Door Claims Season's First Victory on U-102.1

Basketball courts were busy on Thursday as all of the area's girls basketball teams were in action.

The Luxemburg-Casco girls basketball team took a 40-13 lead into the locker room and kept the pedal down as they beat Clintonville 70-27 Thursday night in Luxemburg.

The Southern Door Eagles got their coach, Alyssa Conway, her first victory by beating the Sturgeon Bay Clippers 42-53 on Thursday night.

The Algoma Wolves outscored the visiting Sevastopol Pioneers 25-12 after trailing by three at the break to win Thursday's game 42-32.

Kewaunee kept its perfect Packerland start alive with a 52-36 win over Oconto.

The Gibraltar girls basketball team kept things close in the first half, but made only three shots from the field in the second half of a 57-39 loss to Peshtigo Thursday night.
