Area wrestling teams will be hard at work this weekend, and that just covers the travel.
Luxemburg-Casco is traveling to Missouri for the Kansas City Stampede Tournament featuring dozens of teams from across the country. The Spartans and fellow state power Fennimore are the lone Wisconsin participants in the tournament. Wrestling begins at 1:30 p.m.
Kewaunee will wrestle against Brillion, Wrightstown,and Omro in Wrightstown beginning at 5 p.m.
Speaking of Wrightstown, the school is also host an invitational for girls wrestling teams. Southern Door, Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol, and Luxemburg-Casco are all scheduled to participate along with West Bend East, Hudson, Tomahawk, Oshkosh North, Brillion, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Fennimore, Freedom, Green Bay Preble, Hustisford, Lomira, New Holstein, Oconto Falls, Omro, Ozaukee, Peshtigo, Plymouth, Shiocton, Two Rivers, Waupaca, Winneconne, Xavier, Menominee (MI), Reedsville, Gillett/Suring, and Marinette. Wrestling begins at 5:15 p.m.
On Saturday, Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol will travel to Green Bay Preble for the Willard Schmidt Invitational. In addition to the host school, Kaukauna, Neenah, Seymour, Chilton, Freedom, Lomira, Menominee Indian, Mishicot, Ozaukee, Ripon, Sheboygan South, and Waupaca will also participate when the first matches begin at 9:45 a.m.
